December 28, 2014 - Went off on foot to explore this beautiful town that is about 1/10th the size of Sydney, yet very vibrant. Strolled around the business and along the waterfront where we ate at an outside café. Had a great lunch and looked at all the yachts parked nearby. After dinner we worked more on planning our next travel steps.
View of downtown Auckand from the waterfront
More views of Auckland from the riverfront.
Horse drawn rides along the rows of outside cafes.
Outside cafes.
View of the Auckland bridge that is the road heading north.
Some of the yachts in the harbor.
View outside of our B&B that we stayed at up north in Kerikeri, NZ.
The set of doors in the center were for our room.
On the road north heading towards Cape Renga which is the farthest north road point in NZ.
Cape Regna and the lighthouse at the end of the island/continent.
Distance signs at the lighthouse to various points around the world.
This is at 90 Mile Beach. The tide started coming in while we were there and it moves pretty fast.
Happy New Year! Will start the next post with the new year.
